14/12/2011: Reja: This is the game of our lives

Tonight Lazio hosts Sporting Lisbon in the last round of League Europe. The Roman based side needs to win, but they also need some luck as in the other game Zurich vs. Vaslui the visitors must not win. Lazio coach Edy Reja realizes the chances for his team are not great but still insists: “Even if we have a one out of hundred chance we must play with the best of our ability. The game against Sporting is the game of our lives – and then commented on the other game – Zurich will play to win it. The games in European tournaments have different mentality” – said the tactician according to La Repubblica.

Reja till believes Lazio can go through and says his team played some very good games: “We missed the home game against Vaslui. Perhaps, we underestimated them and in this competition you can’t afford that. You need more experience and maturity”.

The game comes for the Biancoceleste in a very bad moment as they are struck with an injury crisis. “ We are not in a good condition – said Reja – we have problems in both defense and midfield. I’ll have to go back to the 4-2-3-1 system.”

The coach will suspend Radu and Konko and will give chances to Lulic and Cavanda with Biava and Diakite in the center. Between goals with will be the recovered Bizzarri. These five men will have the task of not allowing Sporing to score. In the midfield alongside Ledesma will be the Albanian Cana, who has shown in recent games his current form is on the rise. This hasn’t gone unnoticed from the coach: “He is slowly regaining confidence, much of it after the goal against Lecce. I have good impressions from him and now is the time he must confirm them”. The midfield will be completed by three attacking midfielders: Cisse, Hernanes and Sculli and in front of them will be Rocchi. But the coach has a little dobut: “I had to choose between Rocchi and Kozak, but the Czech will have his chance”.

One particular player sees this game as his chance. Goal keeper Albano Bizzarri will be given another chance and he intends he will not miss it: “This is my time. I will not fail. I’m back and with the right spirit. I waited for some time now and I’m fit and ready to give my best for the team.”
