As Lazio qualified for the knockout stages in Europe for the first time in Lotito's management, it's not only glory at stake but the financial rewards...
Lazio's win over Sporting ensured qualification to the knockout stages and Edy Reja's and his boys have already generated 1.7 million Euros in prize money. Lazio were awarded 640,000 euros for participating in group stage plus a 60,000 euros bonus per match played. Rewards were on offer depending on the result of each game, 140,000 for a win and 70,000 for a draw making Lazio a total of 490,000 for their 9 points achieved. Further to that, Lazio were awarded 200,000 for qualification from the group totalling 1.69 million Euros guaranteed so far.
The rewards for the latter stages are as follows: 300,000 for winning in the next round, 400,000 for the quarter finals and 700,000 for winning in the semi finals. The winner of the final will receive a 3 million bonus while the loser will recieve 2 million. This results in possible earnings of 6.4 million Euros should Lazio go all the way, and this does not include sponsorship or TV rights.
