10/01/2012: Genoa contemplating a Sculli homecoming
email print
Corriere Mercantile are reporting that Genoa are looking into the option of bringing Lazio's Giuseppe Sculli back to the city. There is no evidence of any negotiations with Lazio or the player at this early stage but it is a move that may interest Genoa later in the mercato when Lazio may have less of an injury crisis and could be in a position to sell Sculli, who is currently a regular fixture in the first eleven.

The same source believes that Genoa are upping the stakes in their quest to sign Davide Biondini. The tenacious midfielder was initially linked with Lazio but reports of the Roman's club interest died down amidst reports that Massimo Cellino was unwilling to sell one of Cagliari's prized assets in January. The Cagliari president has a turbulent history with Lazio's Claudio Lotito and any deal Lazio wish to conclude with the player is most likely on hold to the summer when Biondini is set to become a free agent. Meanwhile, a whole host of clubs seem to be in line to snatch the former Azzurri international and at present, Genoa appear to be edging into pole position.
