While Edy Reja started 2012 in the worst way possible with the main squad, Alberto Bollini's primavera could not have asked for more.

Lazio hosted 3rd placed Palermo at Formello today. Palermo was definitely the form team in the league with 8 wins in a row. Palermo only had 1 point less then Lazio and would have advanced to 2nd place with a victory.

Like the main squad the Primavera suffered with several injuries in December. Today however, Bollini was able to field all his best players again. With players like Crescenzi, Onazi & Ceccarelli back from injury the players were hungry to win after their cup defeat against Juventus in the end of 2011.

It only took 10 minutes for Lazio to take the lead when Rozzi gave Lazio the lead after a pass from Onazi. Then after 35 minutes Crescenzi the captain made it 2-0 after a cross from Cavanda.

Just before half time it was time for Onazi to score. At half time Lazio were up by 3 goals.

Lazio did not seem to slow down in the second half. Only three minutes after the break Rozzi got his second after a pass from Ceccarelli. 10 minutes later midfielder Cataldi scored Lazio's 5th goal.

After 66 minutes Rozzi sealed his hattrick. Again Ceccarelli was the architect.

In the 89th minute Onazi scored his second goal from a header.

The only bad news of the day is that Luca Crescenzi had to leave the field with a injury which Alberto Bollini says looks serious. Bollini also had time to praise todays hero, 17 year old Rozzi.

Lazio (4-3-3): Berardi, Sbragia, Crescenzi, Stendardo, Serpieri; Cavanda, Onazi, Cilfone, Cataldi, Rozzi, Ceccarelli

Goals: Rozzi (10, 48, 66), Crescenzi (35), Onazi (43, 89), Cataldi (59)

After pulling of by far the most impressive result of the season Lazio now have 35 points. Lazio could only enjoy life at the top for 30 minutes. 1st placed Roma played Juve Stabia away, and won 1-0 after a goal in the 92nd minute. Lazio are still 2nd, 1 point behind Roma but now 4 points ahead of Palermo. Next week the Primavera team will travel to Bari.
