22/01/2012: Reja: "We did not deserve to lose"
email print
Another big match and another defeat for Lazio. After the loss against Inter at Giuseppe Meazza Edy Reja looks back and regret not leaving with a better result:

"We had a great first half, and it is very disappointing to travel home with no points. We were equal to Inter tonight. I mostly feel bad about the second goal. I have seen the replay and it is clearly a offside. Inter have great players, but tonight they had two shots on target which resulted in two goals."

The Lazio coach also had some words about Cissé who has not been given much time on the pitch lately:

"Cissé has to work hard and understand Italian football. We have three strikers in good form now and we play in three competitions so there will be enough time for everyone to play."

It was believed that Hernanes was injured when Matuzalem replaced him at half time, but Reja insists that the substitute was tactical:

"I did it because he lost the ball too much. We needed a change. I needed someone in the middle who can hold on to the ball, and Matuzalem is an expert at this. I also tried to change tactics, but Inters goal ruined our plan."
