12/04/2012: Brescia reveals they talked to Lazio about El Kaddouri
email print
After Lotito revealed that Lazio is preparing to bring in 4-5 quality players before next season the media quickly took advantage and new players are linked to Lazio every day now. Some might not have any truth to it, but one name that seems more realistic is one of the revelations in Serie B this season, Omar El Kaddouri.

The Belgium midfielder with Moroccan parents spent last season on loan at Sudtirol Serie C. This season the 21 year old has started 32 matches for Brescia in their chase for promotion. The trequartista has shown that perhaps he is already ready for a bigger stage with his 6 goals and 4 assists.

Brescia's director of sports Iaconi revealed to Seriebnews.com that they had a meeting with Claudio Lotito talking about a transfer of the player:

"Yes we had a meeting with Lazio, but other clubs also contacted us. The season is not over and it is too early to talk about the mercato."

So nothing definite about his future?

"No, for now only talks but we are starting to consider the future of the player."

Only Italian teams after him or foreign as well?

"There have been some interest from abroad. I expect something to happen next month, but it depends how high we finish this season."

Is it possible that his contract will be renewed:

"His contract does not expire until 2013 so there is no rush now. Of course it would be good but right now we will focus on promotion then evaluate in June when the season is over."
