03/05/2012: Destro keen on Lazio move
email print
Mattia Destro was the thorn in Lazio's side last night as his goal gave minnows Siena a precious draw from their travels to Rome. Destro has been an nuisance for teams all season long and with eleven goals, he has caught the eye of a number of Serie A's finest teams. Last week, his agent admitted that there were several clubs monitoring his progress and now Destro himself has opened up the possibility of a move to Lazio:

"I want to end the season well here and after that, we will evaluate our options. It is true that I was close to a Lazio move in the past but they have done nothing about their interest. Klose? He is a great champion, and I would be honoured to pay with him."

Destro is on loan at Siena from Genoa -  a club Lotito has good connections with, most recently offloading Giuseppe Sculli to them in January. With Genoa sitting precariously close to relegation, few are convinced that Destro will return and Lazio could be the best of the teams out there who could give the emerging youngster first team football.
