03/05/2012: Reja: We didn't deserve the whistles from the stands

“Today we did a great performance; we created nearly a dozen chances. In the first half we could have scored several times, but we were not good in front of the goal, we did not materialize and we paid the consequences. For sure there was no good luck for us tonight.  We deserved the victory. There should also be noted that when we fail to score we begin to have some weaknesses. Maybe the desire to score so much makes us lucid in front of goal” – said Edy Reja after last night’s draw against Siena.

Reja was disappointed not only from the draw, but also from the whistles coming from the stands. “This year we had problems and because of the many injuries we had missing players, which we needed. We are united, but not ultimately brilliant. But tonight I noticed a different attitude. I’m sorry for the whistles after the game, because in a match like this, full of opportunities, where the boys fought until the end, I find them ungenerous. On the contrary – I think the boys should be applauded for fighting until the end with all they have.”

Lazio lost grip on the third spot, but Reja still believes Lazio can reach it: “We all still believe in third spot. The calendar is in favor of Udinese and Napoli and we have so many injuries and suspensions. But we still don’t give up. We will play our cards until the end. The teams ahead of us can stumble, but we only think of our games. We must believe and try to get the most of the last two games. Eventually we will be rewarded.” – added Reja.
