The final match of the season was the biggest one of the all. Lazio played Inter for the trophy in Gubbio. Over 3000 Lazio fans had travelled north to see the youngsters try and win the Scudetto for the first time since 2001.

LAZIO (4-3-3): Berardi; Ilari, Sbraga (54' Serpieri), Vilkaitis, Marin; Onazi, Zampa, Cataldi (46' Vivacqua); Barreto, Emmanuel, Rozzi (87' Tira)

Unused subs: Scarfagna, Salustri, Cilfone, Crecco

INTER (4-3-2-1): Sala; Alborno, Spendlhofer, Kysela, Mbaye; RomanĂ², Duncan, Crisetig; Bessa (19' Garritano, 88' Terrani), Livaja (78' Forte); Longo

Unused subs: Cincilla, Bandini, Benassi, Pasa

The match started in the worst possible way when Livaja made it 1-0 for Inter after only 4 minutes. Inter also created several more chances but it looked like they would take their lead in to half time. However in the 48th minute Rozzi put in a lovely cross for Gonzalo Barreto who made it 1-1.

The second half started like the first. After 3 minutes Garritano scored. To make it even worse for Lazio, Sbraga was injured and had to be replaced.

68 minutes in to the game the talented striker Longo showed some magic. After beating several Lazio defenders he made it 3-1 all on his own.

Lazio struggled to get past the Inter defence after that and it looked like the match was over. In the 89th minute Onazi gave the Biancocelesti some hope after scoring on a long-range shot but it was too late. Inter won the title this year, but the youngsters can look back on a very good season and be proud.

The fans that had shown up today certainly showed them that despite the loss they can look back and be proud of this season. Even after the referee had blown his whistle and the Inter players were celebrating in front of their own fans all you could hear was the travelling supporters from Rome still singing.
