Stefan Radu has under a long period of time had problems with his right knee. The problem kept him away from the pitch on numerous occasions last summer and the talk of him undergoing a surgery to lessen the problems in the future have been ongoing for some time.
Today Radu underwent an arthroscopic surgery and everything went well. It was at Paideia and in Rome, contrary to reports that it was in Romania the medical treatment would take place.
At Auronzo di Cadore no one is expecting the defender to be able to join before the departure. Doctor Lovati stated everything had unfolded as expected and that the team had not come across any problems during the process. “The ligaments look ok”, stated Lovati, but could not promise when Radu would be back in action. One week of complete rest is needed and up to 40 days in total.
In other news it was confirmed Stefan Radu had been freed from any disciplinary punishment because of the picture that after the home game against Napoli was spread in media and that suggested the player had made the so called Roman Salute towards Curva Nord.
The political gesture is not allowed in Italian football, but as Lazio and Radu himself pointed out by referring to a video of the celebrations after the win against the Partenopei, the picture that media spread was taken out of its context. Today the Disciplinary Committee ruled in favour of the Lazio player, underlining the innocence of the player and pointing out the responsibility of the media to not flood the newspapers with untrue material as it was doing Serie A and Italian football harm.
