01/08/2012: Primavera: New kids on the block
email print

As Baldini prepares for a 3rd season in a row with the Lazio Primavera, thoughts must still be on the amazing performances of last season. The Aquilotti made it to the final of the Pimavera Championship only to lose to Inter but it was still a monumental effort from the young Laziali.

1992 is the new age limit for the players which means a whole bunch of new faces around at Formello including Marin and Crecco, both born in 1995 and have already impressed. The media are expecting another good year ahead and pinpoint the 'veterani' who can lead this team. The class of 1993 include Lithuanian defender Vilkaitis, Falasca who was signed from Inter and Antonio Rozzi who enjoyed working with the first team already. The young striker scored 15 goals in 21 games last season and even made an appearance against A.C. Milan in Serie A.

Two goalkeepers are held in high regard and are Scarfagna and Di Piero. They will be joined by new signing Strakosha from Albania, born in 1995.

Further good news is Keita has solved his passport issues and will be available to play this year. He will infact be included in a mini ritiro in Rivisondoli. Others going are Silvagni, a good midfielder, Filippini, Pace, Mazzei, Smacchia and strikers Alleva and Lombardi. Eyes will be on Pollace, a very promising defender born in 1995.

However the main man in the spotlight is Rocco Giordano, the son of Lazio legend Bruno. Bollini is believed to have high hopes for the youngster as do infact the whole of Lazio, as he was one of the jewels in Simone Inzaghi's team.
