As you might expect, much of today's news focuses on Lazio's narrowest of victories against Malmoe. La Repubblica are one of many newspapers to comment on the game. The newspapers comments on how close Lazio came to not winning the game, relying on Libor Kozak to score the winner in the dying seconds, marking Lazio's first victory against a 'real' team, as La Repubblica put it. Vladimir Petkovic, who was fairly disturbed after Lazio's loss to Getafe seeems pretty satisfied with last night's game noting that Lazio dominated the game:
"Tonight we played well until the death. We dominated for 90 minutes without taking our chances, The one thing that is missing in making the most of the opportunities we create. We did well, today we were tactically disciplined."
"We need to take our opportunities, you would talk differently if we scored the five goals or so that we could have scored. Going forward can also be improved, we can be quicker with the ball. We did better tonight but we can still improve. Tonight has shown a good approach and that we can handle pressure, I saw grit for 90 minutes tonight."
The newspapers marked out Floccari, Onazi and Hernanes as encouraging performers during the game.
Corriere dello Sport have reported that Javier Garrido's move to Norwich City is done. Meanwhile Lionel Scaloni has been very forthright in discussing Lazio's pre-season:
"This pre-season has not gone well, unfortunately we have lost too often. We spend three years with the one coach. There is a big difference in the field now and it is clear something is wrong in attack. We need to score, finishing more chances."
Scaloni is not surprised that ticket sales are down on this time last year following a pre-season of poor showings in the stands:
"When starting the season with four losses, it is not hard to see why. We are still confident of doing well, starting with the Europa League. As for the market, we know the club is doing the best it can but we also know that we are strong as we are. We also have Zarate with us again: he has great quality but he must show it on the field and understand that alone, he cannot win us games."
