18/08/2012: Lotito: "Half The World Wants Hernanes"
|

Claudio Lotito has told reporters that Lazio have a clear market strategy and have no intent of selling their prized assets - including the currently underperforming Hernanes.
"We have not sold any strong piece of the team and will continue in this way. It would be very easy to sell but we have decided against this as we want to keep the highlights of the team here. Look, half the world wants Hernanes and many have asked, but we will keep him here."
"We are working to give Petkovic a team that is strong in all departments. To date, the midfield is well stocked. We have Candreva, Ederson, Matuzalem, Cana, Ledesma, Brocchi, Onazi, Lulic, Hernanes and there are more options. What do we need? We are acting wisely to ensure we are not clogged in one area, instead we want to prune the rose."
"We are full in attack and are looking to relocate some players. You already know we are trying to move Carrizo and Foggia but there is also someone else and so far we have moved Stendardo and Garrido. We want to give the players who have no space with us the opportunity to play elsewhere but the problem is, there is no money around."
On the Carrizo to Pescara and the Foggia to Torino rumours, Lotito was clear:
"I don't think those players will go to those clubs, we've had contact with them and even Siena, but for now all is still."
On the squad in general:
"People forget what these players have achieved - the Italian Cup, the Supercup, two high league finishes. We are monitoring the market and there is still time to close deals. We are thinking about what to do in defence. With Granqvist, never say never, there is still time."
"We talked with Diakite's representatives [to renew his contract] but Diakite's demands are high. We will see, we know what to do there. To the fans, I say 'have faith'".
