Il Corriere dello Sport open with Lazio's quest for a centre back. They claim that Lazio offered 9 million Euros for Porto defender Rolando. The Portuguese seem to have him priced out the market at over 12m although the offer has not yet been rejected.

They believe that City's Kolo Toure is the more concrete option. There is bad blood between the clubs after City poached young talent Marin but the paper claim that they want to put things right by pushing Toure towards Rome. The problem? His wages. Toure earns 4m a year at City and Lotito can only offer 2m plus bonuses. However there is mention of a possible severance package for the player from City to help move the deal forward.

Much of the focus is on Lazio's season opener tonight against Mura 05. They believe Petkovic will play 4-3-3 with Klose as the spearhead with Candreva and Mauri on either side. Zarate will be on the bench. Onazi and Hernanes are likely to start in midfield with Ledesma. Petkovic spoke to the media about the match: "Surely the first game is the most difficult to assess. The first concrete answers will come with our first official match because it will change the way you think about the approach of the players. I am confident that my team will have much respect for opponents. We will try to close the discussion of qualification. My team came here with 20 players on Friday, we will be together with others to prepare for the next".
