04/09/2012: Lotito: "We have offered Rocchi a role after retirement"

"The team is united and wants to do well. We have quality and all credit must go to Mr. Pettkovic." Words from Lazio president Claudio Lotito to the microphones of SkySport 24.

"We received many requests for Floccari but I didn't want to weaken the squad. We decided to keep the players we considered useful for the project. We will play in 3 competitons plus we had many injuries last season. Petkovic has clear ideas and I respect him alot".

Miroslav Klose has continued where he left off with 2 goals on Sunday, Lotito commented: "He was wanted in the summer, as were many of our players, but Lazio was not going to give away any of our strengths. Klose is a great professional, someone said that 34 is too old but...He chose Lazio because he wants to show his values and he believes in this project".

Lazio have made a great start to the season and sit top of the table but when asked about the Scudetto, Lotito said: "It would be illogical to talk about the Scudetto. The league this year is unusual and difficult to predict. We live day to day aware that we have a great organisation, but also aware that you may experience certain events. We hope not to lose our goals for nothing as we did in previous years".

"My relationship with the fans? Except for those that have pre-determined positions, others are realising that we are doing a good job. When I took over Lazio, it had huge debts but unfortunately for many it has become the 'customary law' to dislike me".

Tommaso Rocchi was linked with Inter in the summer but Lazio rejected any deal. "For Floccari and Rocchi, there were 6 teams interested including Inter. We did not want to sell Floccari, while Rocchi did not want to move. We have respect for Tommaso and he has a role here similar to Del Piero at Juve last year. He still plays an active part in the dressing room and we made a commitment to him by offering him a role with the club once he retires".
