07/11/2012: Lotito and Preziosi Heal Rift
email print
Claudio Lotito is back on speaking terms with Genoa's President, Enrico Preziosi and that could lead to a re-negotiation of transfers that were brought to a standstill in the summer. Lotito took offence to Preziosi's decision to cancel a deal that would see Andreas Granqvist move to Lazio. Preziosi cancelled the deal after the manager, Luigi De Canio insisted that he remained with the club and Lotito brought an end to the friendship by pulling the plug in Emiliano Alfaro's proposed loan move to Genoa.

Luigi De Canio has since received the sack as has their Director of Sport, Stefano Capozucca and the two presidents appear keen to do business again without them. Although Michael Ciani joined Lazio from Bordeaux, his far from impressive start in Rome could see Lazio swoop to seal a move for Granqvist. There are a number of players who could be makeweights in the deal. Mobido Diakite', who is currently frozen out at Lazio, could move to Genoa in exchange. Lotito is also keen to offload Mauro Zarate permanently for a considerable sum and if Genoa are keen, Granqvist could lower the transfer fee for them. Meanwhile, Preziosi has his eye on taking Giuseppe Sculli back and that may also knock any fee for Granqvist down.
