16/01/2013: Lotito: "Inter have asked about Carrizo"
email print
Inter Milan are in the market for a new goalkeeper this winter and according to Claudio Lotito, Jaun Pablo Carrizo is on their shortlist.

Javier Zanetti is said to have recommended the player to Massimo Moratti, as the Inter President continues his search for an understudy to Slovenian stopper, Samir Handanovic.

Chievo goalkeeper and former Lazio youth product, Stefano Sorrentino was believed to be top of the pile but Chievo are holding out for a significant sum of cash leading Inter to look at cheaper alternatives. With Carrizo out of contract in June, he is both affordable and willing as conversations with Zanetti appear to have resulted in interest.

Lotito is also interested in offers - but they must include some form of compensation.

"I can confirm that Inter have expressed an interest in Carrizo, but no official offer has been made", said the Lazio President.

"We have not put the player on the market but nobody at Lazio is untouchable and Carrizo is no different to anyone else. His situation is quite different to Rocchi, though and Inter must pay if they want him."
