Introducing Bruno Pereirinha at the player's official presentation, Lazio's Director of Sport Igli Tare commented on the similarities between this deal and that of Antonio Candreva, stating that he hoped that Pereirinha, like Candreva, would become an important player despite all the criticism that surrounds the club's transfer policy.

Pereirinha, who will wear the No. 17 jersey is happy to be at Lazio, but, he has a major obstacle to overcome:

"I apologise for talking to you in English, I hope to improve my Italian in the next few weeks. I chose this club and am honored for the faith that has been placed in me. I will do my best to meet the expectations of me."

"I am a very fast player, I can play anywhere on the right wing. The form of the game will not be a problem as i think I am a very versatile player."

"I remember a very loud and aggressive game against Lazio [when he played for Sporting last season in the Europa League]. I can also play more internally in the midfield."

"What has struck me is the unity of the players that I have found here. I am more than ready to play right away."

"I like the system in Italy, the tactical game. I think I can do well here."
