  04/03/2013: Macheda: "Betrayal? Crap!"

In an interview with Il Messagero, Federico Macheda has spoke out on his love for Lazio. Asked if he felt he betrayed Lazio, Macheda had this to say:

"Crap. Even if I would make the same choice again. I am Roman, so I love Lazio, I love her to death and I always watch her. As soon as I finished the game against Leverkusen, I logged on to see the match against Milan, the carnage, but never mind."

Asked how he would respond to Lotito should they meet on Thursday, Macheda said:

"I will greet him politely and congratulate him on the team he has assembled. It is among top three in Italy - no doubt."

"There will be a lot of emotion playing Lazio, even if it is not the first time. It happened with Sampdoria, but I played very little. Now it is different. I will be a professional."

"I'm working like crazy in Stuttgart, I can grow a lot here. German is not simple, but I'll learn."

"I'd be happy to score for Stuttgart on Thursday, but I won't celebrate and they will understand."

Asked who should fear the Biancocelesti, Macheda was clear:

"All teams. Klose is missed, but they have Floccari and then there is Hernanes, Candreva, Ledesma. And Petkovic is a very good coach. Can I tell you something? Milan hurt us, but in the end, it will be Lazio who reach third and I am not saying that as a fan. The Lazio roster is far ahead of Milan, Inter and all those behind."

Asked about the UEFA ban on Lazio, Macheda said it would play into Stuttgart's hands but insisted that the Curva Nord and Lazio are unique. He expressed a desire to return one day, saying he fell in love during the Cragnotti era with players like Veron and Crespo although his idol was Alen Boksic.
