  10/03/2013: Fiore on Lazio-Fiorentina
email print
Lazio and Fiorentina are head-to-head for a place in Europe, who has the best chance of winning?
"The game is definitely important for a place in Europe, with regards to the Champions League the favourite is now Milan but for the Europa League the discussion is wide open. Lazio and Fiorentina are two very good teams playing a different type of football and very effective. The match will be difficult, open to any result. Both coaches are very competent and we hope to see a spectacular game."

From a tactical point of view, what are the strengths of both teams?
"Fiorentina have a very offensive game with an attack consisting of young and fast players. The midfield has a high level of technicnal ability and the defence is very attentive. Lazio are perhaps less technical but the midfield, is given space, can be devastating. Gonzalez, Mauri and Hernanes are players who can hurt opposition at any time. The main difference is that Lazio adapt to their opponent while Fiorentina always try and impose their game."

Lazio beat Stuttgart in the Europa League, do you think they will have lost energy for this match?
"It's inevitable that at some point during the match Lazio will start to tire. Not so much on a physical level but playing on so many fronts can affect the mental energy of the team and can disappear in a clash important as this where Fiorentina will play a quick game and may have the slight advantage."

Do you think that the Europa League will be between Lazio, Inter, Fiorentina, Catania and Roma?
"Yes, it is clear though that Lazio and Inter can still undermine Milan but right now the rossoneri are favourites for third. The further Lazio go in the Europa League however may have some setbacks in the league through injuries and tiredness."
