03/05/2013: Di Vaio: "Nesta and I are ready to celebrate"
email print
Montreal striker Marco Di Vaio claims that he and Alessandro Nesta will be watching the Coppa Italia final together and hope to be celebrating at the end.

Di Vaio, a lifelong Lazio fan, moved to Canada along with former Lazio legend Alessandro Nesta and told reporters how they both still closely follow Lazio.

"Everytime I played Lazio at the Olimpico I felt sick, the real me didn't play. Against Roma I was fully loaded and it was a different story but when it came to facing the biancoceleste I couldn't give my all. It is no coincidence that after so many years in Serie A it is the only fixture I didn't score in."

"Until January Lazio were great, almost on par with Juventus. Petkovic was good at adapting to the players, it was a nice surprise. It is almost incomprehensible what has happened now, given the few points gained in the second half. It is probably due to too many close fixtures as well as injuries to key players like Mauri and Klose."

"Right now I would say this season has been strange for Lazio, but if we win the Coppa Italia it will become fantastic. I do not want to think about it not happening. It will be an incredible game, worth almost as much as a Scudetto. The Derby is already the Derby but in a final? Mamma mia...Unfortunately Sandro (Nesta) and I will have to watch it from here on the couch but we hope that the cup will be ours. We are ready to celebrate in Montreal."

"We are two crazy overseas fans, but more than anything, we are two boys who grew up wearing that shirt. For us, Lazio is something more..."
