28/05/2013: Lulic: "Fans kiss my right foot"
email print
The winger scored the only goal of the game to ensure Lazio won the Coppa Italia against Roma. Lulic told Lazio Style channel:

"After two days I still cannot believe it - it was an incredible evening. The day after the game people on the street would stop me and kiss my right foot - the one I scored with. People recognise me more. In Italy they are crazy about football, espescially in Rome. Fans want a monument of me? We'll see when I get back to Rome."

Lulic remained quite modest about his achievement:

"Tomorrow I leave for the national team, but I will see that goal many times again. I just scored a goal, I don't take all the credit because the whole team made history. The Derby? I understand what this game means to everyone when I see everyone cry - not just the fans but the players too. It has been two days and I still cannot believe what happened. It will take two weeks, maybe years, for it to sink in."

Lulic was asked if he had a message for Petkovic:

"What do I say? Thank goodness he won too after two finals lost. I'm happy for him and for all. After the goal I wanted to run to the bench but the others came to hug me and stopped me before I got there."
