18/06/2013: Negotiations to Take Place For Felipe Anderson
email print
Lazio's Director of Sport is set to negotiate with Santos and the now infamous UK-based private equity firm later this afternoon for Santos playmaker, Felipe Anderson. previously reported that Tare, and Lazio's secretary Armando Calveri had taken a flight to Sao Paolo over the weekend and the nature of the mission is now beginning to emerge.

The deal for Anderson has been in discussion for six months now. The player himself wants to leave Santos and has his heart set on Lazio, and that desire has only intensified as the player has struggled on the field since the rumour mill went into overdrive. Santos also want to sell, although they may have changed their stance had they managed to snap up Marcelo Bielsa as coach for the forthcoming season. The only stumbling block is the private equity firm who own 50% of Felipe Anderson according to Corriere dello Sport.

The newspaper reports that half of Felipe Anderson's rights were purchased for 2 million euro by the UK company and that there is a clause that any future sale of the Brazilian should see the private equity firm receive 30% of the profit Santos make on the sale in relation to his value at the time of buying. A complex deal, but essentially, Felipe Anderson was valued at 4 million and in any sale to Lazio, Santos will receive 2 million, the private equity firm will receive 2 million and the remainder of the transfer fee will be split 70/30. It is believed that the private equity firm are hoping to make roughly 1 million profit from the deal and therefore Lazio will need to bid approximately 7.5 million to secure the services of Felipe Anderson. Lotito has apparently set an absolute limit on a transfer fee at 9 million euro.

More details should emerge today. Meanwhile, Sky Italia believe that Tare is in Brazil for a secondary mission - negotiation the sale of Hernanes to PSG.
