05/07/2013: Vinicius: "So happy to be here"

New signing Vinicius gave his first interview after his medical at Paideia. Lazio have seen great potential in the former Cruzeiro left-back and Vinicius told the media:

"I'm really happy to be here, I'm excited for this challenge. This is a beautiful city, one of the world's most important and Lazio are a great team. I hope to do well and establish myself."

"Hernanes is a great champion. I do not know him personally but I've seen him play, most recently in the Confederations Cup. He has great quality. It is a pleasure to play in the same team as him."

Vinicius was greeted by fans and was asked about Lazio's Coppa Italia win over Roma in May:

"Did I see the Italian Cup Derby? I know that Lazio won an historic match!"

Vinicius is a natural left-back but can play equally as well out wide in a five man midfield. He joins fellow Brazilians Hernanes, Dias, Ederson and Felipe Anderson - who is expected on Monday. Apparently the deal has been kept under-wraps for 15 days before the final breakthrough in the last 48 hours.
