07/07/2013: Floccari - Pinilla swap off the cards
email print
A swap involving Sergio Floccari of Lazio and Mauricio Pinilla of Cagliari was apparently being considered by both Claudio Lotito and Massimo Cellino but it has been ruled out today by Corriere dello Sport. The Italian newspaper believe that such a deal is not economically viable and that Cagliari have instead turned their attention to Atalanta forward Matteo Ardemagni who spent last season plying his trade in Serie B with Modena. Cellino is hoping to include Pinilla in the deal, which would rule out the possibility of Lazio taking Pinilla.

Meanwhile, the future of Federico Marchetti is coming under intense scrutiny with Arsenal being mentioned as a possible destination. Marchetti, who is on vacation, has reportedly told the press that he knows nothing of Arsenal's interest and that his future is in the hands of Lotito. Marchetti also praised Hernanes and indicated that he hoped the Brazilian would remain in Rome, but Marchetti also said that in the event of an offer, Lazio would have to make a decision that is in the club's best interests.
