Naturally the focus of today's newspapers is the deferral of Stefano Mauri and Lazio to the Disciplinary Committee. The paper's have been speculating what punishment could be dished out should both parties be liable with la Gazzetta dello Sport believing a 2 point deduction would be the likely punishment with Mauri getting himself a lengthy ban.

Stefano Mauri's lawyer has spoken today to reiterate his client's innocence:

"I do not think there is any new evidence compared to the findings of the prosecutor in Cremona last year. If we have to prove his innocence again we will. If the facts remain the same as those of a year ago then we have already explained ourselves."

Il Corriere dello Sport report that Lazio are on the verge of signing young Croat Josip Elez. Both Lazio and Hajduk were some bit apart in the negotiations with Lazio offering 400k Euros and the Croatians wanting 700k. It is believed that they reached an agreement at 550k and Elez should arrive for his medical in the next few days should everything go to plan.
