  12/07/2013: Auronzo di Cadore: Day 1
email print
Day one at Auronzo di Cadore. The summer camp in Venetia has become a regular feature of the S.S. Lazio season and Lazio were welcomed back with open arms yet again this year to the village. Opening the camp - otherwise known as the 'Lazio Style Village' - was the responsibility of Vladimir Petkovic, who was accompanied by Jose Barnabé and the star attraction, Olimpia.

The following is the official squad list for the training camp;

Goalkeepers: Bizzarri, Strakosha, Guerrieri.

Defenders: Biava, Dias, Ciani, Stankevicius, Novaretti, Radu, Cana, Konko, Pereirinha, Cavanda, Vinicius.

Midfielders: Lulic, Mauri, Ledesma, Ederson, Cataldi, Crecco, Antic.

Attackers: Kozak, Floccari, Klose, Rozzi, Keita, Tounkara, Alfaro, Zarate.

There are a number of players who are not yet at camp. Extended breaks have been given to those who were on international duty recently; Hernanes, Antonio Candreva, Federico Marchetti and Alvaro Gonzalez. Another glaring omission is Lucas Biglia, who is also on an extended break. The Biglia deal is not yet official, but will become official once he completes a medical.

Felipe Anderson is also absent. There was some confusion in recent days over his physical condition as his agent claimed he had a badly sprained ankle hours before he was pictured on an exercise bike, which suggests he had a medical. A team doctor has confirmed that it may be 2 or 3 weeks before he can join up with the squad and that is why his name was not on the list.

Despite being on the list, Luis Pedro Cavanda did not travel with the team. He claims he is suffering with the flu and will join up with the squad next week. Meanwhile Mauro Zarate has not turned up.

The physical training went very well and only one minor issue arose. Mamadou Tounkara had to visit the medical staff in between the morning and afternoon sessions. He was assessed and diagnosed with muscle cramps and was allowed to return to training in the afternoon.
