As reported by, Mauro Zarate is now a Vélez Sarsfield player. The Argentine has returned home and according to Corriere dello Sport, he has signed a two-year deal with his boyhood idols. Zarate believes he is technically a free agent as in his legal battle with Claudio Lotito and S.S. Lazio, he has been informed that a favourable judgement looms, but it remains to be seen how Lotito and Lazio respond to the transfer.

Meanwhile, Felipe Anderson is set to arrive in Auronzo di Cadore today along with Ogenyi Onazi, who has confirmed via his Facebook profile that he will arrive at the pre-season training camp on Monday. Only Lucas Biglia and Brayan Perea are left to join up with their teammates. Biglia is on vacation, and is expected in Rome in the next few days while Perea is waiting on a Visa.

Ansa and other outlets contain the interview with Stefano Mauri which was published on yesterday. The only other news doing the rounds is Genoa's interest in Lazio stopper, Albano Bizzarri. Bizzarri was linked with Bologna earlier in the summer, but it is now emerging that he is Genoa's second choice to replace Sebastian Frey, who has been frozen out of the squad as he closes in on a move to Turkey and Bursaspor. Emiliano Viviano is Genoa's first choice according to Correire dello Sport, but Villarreal are also interested in the Fiorentina goalkeeper and should the Spanish side emerge victorious, Genoa will turn their attention to Bizzarri. A straight swap involving Mattia Perin could be on the cards.
