20/07/2013: Auronzo di Cadore: Day 9
email print
The morning session began with some individual technique exercises as the squad was divided into three separate groups. Felipe Anderson did not take part in the session as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury while Albano Bizzarri's elbow injury forced him into the gym, but he began work with the goalkeeping coach before the session concluded.

As the session wore on, the players were required to navigate a small obstacle course which led to a ball with the end objective to put the ball in the back of the net. While the majority of the squad engaged in this exercise, Stefano Mauri and Miroslav Klose worked on some movement exercises with the team doctor instead.

To close out the session, Petkovic divided the squad into two groups and initiated a friendly match but the game was played on a much shorter field than a game would be in reality. It is likely that he did this to increase the difficulty and challenge the players' ability to work the ball in tight areas.

Prior to the second session of the day, Danilo Cataldi and Mamadou Tounkara took to the field to sign some autographs for fan. By now, they sky was threatening and neither Dias or Vinicius were risked with the former suffering from muscle fatigue in the groin area. With the rain pouring down, Petkovic put the players through a significant athletic workout before indulging in some shooting practice by the end of the session. At 7pm, Friday's training was brought to an end. The players will have a chance now to get acquainted with Lucas Biglia and Luis Pedro Cavanda who arrived at Auronzo di Cadore on Friday.
