03/09/2013: Bizzarri: "I gave everything for Lazio"

Albano Bizzarri made a last minute switch to Genoa last night which had been on and off all summer. The Argentine made it clear at the start of the summer that he desired first team football, but in leaving, he thanked Lazio fans via LazioStyle Radio for their understanding:

"I am very sad to be leaving. It is not easy to say good bye and the affection will forever remain. Fans of Lazio understood my decision, they thanked me but asked me to stay. Their affection amazed me - it was sonderful, and it's not easy to gain that afection when you do not play every day. I thank everyone, including those that I work with every day. I'm excited about this new adventure, and I am hoping for the opportunity to play more at Genoa."

"The most beautiful game? Surely the match against Inter [Final game of 2011-12 season where Bizzarri started and Lazio won 3-1, sealing Europa League qualification]. Also the game against Milan 2 years ago was very important as it was a difficult year for me. Another game I remember fondly is Chievo a year and a half ago. It was at home, I was besieged and very lucky to keep it 0-0."

"I cam to Rome in the hope of becoming the number one goalkeeper, but it was not so, yet the fans appreciate everyone who puts on the shirt. I gave everything I have to Lazio. It will be difficult to break the national team as the coach has already made his choices but I am looking forward to being able to play on Sundays again."
