Lazio and Macron have unveiled a special edition shirt in honour of legend Silvio Piola. 2013 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the greatest striker in Italian football history. Piola holds the record for most goals scored in Serie A with an astounding 290 strikes - 143 of those were scored in a Lazio shirt.

In honour Macron and Lazio decided to mark the occasion with a special limited edition shirt with the iconic number 9 on the back. To resemble the shirt Piola would have worn, when club logo's were not on the shirts, both the Macron and Lazio badge are sky blue to blend in. On the sleeve is embroidered Piola's signature and the number 290. The reverse of the shirt has the iconic number 9 stitched on with S.S. Lazio 1900 under the collar.

Lazio will wear the shirts in the match against Fiorentina on October 6th.

The shirt was modeled by Sergio Floccari with Claudio Lotito also in attendance. Lotito told reporters:

"143 of his goals were scored in the Lazio shirt. We are proud to have had him in our society. He was a champion not only on the field but also in everyday life. It's no coincidence that today, after 100 years, we are still remembering."
