  13/10/2013: Interview with Novaretti
email print
Did you expect such a tough start?
"Coming from such a different league is always complicated, you have to adapt to a new life, a new language and a completely different type of football. I am very shy and this is not easy, it took me 6 months to settle in Mexico. However I don't like the criticsim I have received. I listen to constructive criticism and try to improve but all I have heard are allegations in bad faith, designed to demoralise and nothing else. I always put in the maximum effort."

Do you regret moving to Lazio?
"No, never. I dreamed of Serie A and to think I was wrong would be bad. My experience here is positive and I am convinced. Once I learn the language it will get better. The players talk alot on the field but I don't understand anyone"

What went wrong in thte first 2 months?
"So many things, one of them bringing us to where we are, seventh place. We are worth so much more."

The Champions League is a dream?
"Lazio can and must finish in the top two places. We are a strong team, complete in every department."

Which players have you become friends with?
"First of all the guys who speak my language, for example Ledesma and Biglia, but also Dias and the newcomers, from Anderson to Perea."

What are your hobbies?
I am a family man, now even more so since my wife is expecting a baby. I also like music and TV.

Is it true Mancini had been looking at you?
"Yes, in May his collaborators came to Mexico and talked, but then Lazio came along and the negotiations lasted only two weeks."

Would you like to make any promises to the Lazio fans?
"I do not like to make promises but I will always give my best. Always."
