  06/12/2013: Marchetti's days are numbered
email print
Italian newspaper Il Tempo claim Federico Marchetti will definitely be sold in June - but it could be January, depending on current contact negotiations.

Marchetti and his agent Beppe Bozzo are talking to President Claudio Lotito on a daily basis over a new deal. Il Tempo claim that Marchetti has issued an ultimatum - either 2.5 million euro per season in a deal lasting until 2018, or an immediate transfer. The newspaper speculates that AC Milan are willing to meet these terms, and the goalkeeper is prepared to listen as he will turn 31 in February and knows that a crack at a major European player is not beyond his reach.

The newspaper also believe there is absolutely no chance that Lotito will agree to these terms. Etrit Berisha was brought in with Marchetti's sale in mind and the Albanian number one confirmed this to the media when he first arrived in Rome. Reading between the lines, Marchetti will leave in June but if there is any fallout from the negotiations, his departure could be as soon as four weeks.
