  21/02/2014: "There are still 90 minutes to play": Reja

Edy Reja’s return to European football was not the happiest one. In his last European game two seasons ago, his Lazio side were defeated by Atletico Madrid and tonight against Ludogorets Razgrad a similar result was repeated.

Speaking about his sides performance; "In the first half we were not well organized and this put us in difficulty while in the second half we played better, but we had no luck. Today something went wrong. In the first half we perhaps lacked some emotion, reaction and control. We needed to react better and we showed that in the second half so I am happy for that but we lost the ball too many times and they kept it well".

The coach did however had positive thoughts about the second leg encounter;
"There are still 90 minutes to play. Tonight’s result is not the best but we have a chance next week. We will need to score goals.
They will be playing at home and will be favourites to progress".

"I must thank the few fans that came to support the team. It is clear that in such an environment it is not easy to play, but this is the reality and we need to take note".

Reja was then asked about the substitution of Felipe Anderson and why Candreva did not start the tie against the Bulgarians; "I had already planned it. I was not affected by the miss or the performance but just for tactical reasons. As for Candreva, he has the highest playing time in the squad this season. I need to be careful to prevent injuries so I have him a bit of a rest".
