29/04/2014: Minala: "I send all my money to my family in Cameroon"
email print

Minala gave an interview to Sky Sports and spoke about his family, his love for Lazio and what he thinks about all the people who say that he isn’t a teenager.

The young talent from Cameroon started the interview with a story LazioLand already told you about – all the problems he had when he arrived in Italy and about the people who gave him a helping hand when he had nobody and had to work his way around in Italy by himself.

If you have forgotten his story you can read it again:

What did Minala say about his age?
“I was born in Yaounde, Cameroon on August 24, 1996. You can easily find information about me.”

“Do I look older? I think so. This is something very common for people from Africa. I am 17 years old and that is a fact. I invite you all to my 18th birthday.”

Minala is a star on and off the field… he has a curious story to reveal:

“I was an actor in a comedy. I spoke the language and it was easier for me to play in it. The film was called ‘I am not invisible’. The main part of the film is to show everyone that we are all equal and that it doesn’t matter what the color of our skin is.”

“I had an agreement with Napoli, I also had tests with Roma but I wanted only one thing – to sign with Lazio and I kept on waiting for a call from them because first of all I’m a Lazio fan. “

Minala takes all the stories and articles about him not being 17 years old with a smile. He keeps on joking about that.

The young Cameronian earns only 1500 euro per month at Lazio and he sends all of his money to his family in Yaounde. He has eleven brothers. It looks like his heart as large as his talent.

“This is why I play football. I have the ambition inside me to play. My parents don’t work and I send all of my earnings to them so that I can help them live a bit better. Thank God that I can play football and that I can earn money so that I can help my family back in Cameroon.”
