01/06/2014: The assault for Astori continues
email print

Despite the coaching uncertainty at the club, Lotito is adamant on acquiring Cagliari’s David Astori this summer.

The latest reports suggest that Lazio have now offered the Sardinians 7 million Euros for the experienced central defender.

Despite the Cagliari president, Massimo Cellino, working hard to sell the club he is also interested in retaining Astori, but at this new club Leeds United so it will not be easy for Lotito to sign the defender. However, it remains to be seen if Astori is interested in a move to England’s second tier so the chance to remain in Italy at a big club may be too good to refuse.

Astori is said to be very disappointed at missing out on the Italian World Cup team and will very likely leave Cagliari this summer in order to cement himself a spot in the national side over the coming years.

One thing is for sure though, that Lotito and Tare have identified Astori as their key summer signing and they will do everything possible to get their man. What remains now is Cellino’s response on the 7 million Euro offer.
