20/07/2014: Marroccu: "Lazio and Juventus keen on Astori"

New Cagliari President, Tommaso Giulini has been determined to keep Davide Astori at the Sardinian club, but his Director of Sport, Francesco Marroccu has admitted to that Astori is likely to leave this summer:

"The situation is clear; we want to please the man who has expressed a desire to leave. We have seen the need to cash in, given that he has only one year left on his contract. A renewal is unlikely."

"We have started negotiations with both Lazio and Juventus. Juventus' interest does not coincide with the arrival of Allegri; it goes back before that. At the moment, we cannot say that one team has an advantage over the other."

"There is a gap of a few million [between Lazio's estimation and Cagliari's], but we are not so forward in the negotiations that we have talked about figures. Will there be meetings in the next few days? I don't think so, we will continue telephone contact."
