  19/04/2011: Lazio Best Season
email print
1994-1995 is one of the best SS Lazio season since its scudetto back in 1974.  Its team filled with well-established internationally respected players and secured 2nd place in Serie A, following five consecutive wins right at the end of the season. They were:

Goalkeepers: Luca Marchegiani, Fernando Orsi, Flavio Roma

Defenders: Daniele Adani, Cristiano Bergodi, Mauro Bonomi, José Chamot, Roberto Cravero, Giuseppe Favalli, Alessandro Nesta, Paolo Negro

Midfielders: Roberto Bacci, Leonardo Colucci, Vincenzo De Sio, Ivano Della Morte, Roberto Di Matteo, Thomas Doll, Diego Fuser, Paul Gascoigne, Giorgio Venturin, Aron Winter, Roberto Rambaudi

Strikers: Pierluigi Casiraghi, Giuseppe Signori, Alen Bokšić, Marco Di Vaio

New coach Zdeněk Zeman brought an extremely offensive football with him, which saw Lazio score the most goals of any team in the series, and Giuseppe Signori once again was its top-scorer, hitting 17 goals. It was not enough to regain his goalscoring tiles from 1993 and 1994, but during the 1994-95 season his fellow strikers Pierluigi Casiraghi (pictured) and Alen Bokšić performed better themselves, ensuring Lazio scored 14 goals higher than in the year before.

Some of the interesting fact with Serie A was average goals scored at home in one season, when Lazio scores 49 goals in 17 home games which comprises 2.88 goals per match. It was a magnificent season in which Lazio has made some remarkable results, here are some of them:

Lazio - Fiorentina 8-2
Lazio - Foggia 7-1
Lazio - Genoa 4-0
Lazio - Inter 4-1
Lazio - AC Milan 4-0
Lazio - Napoli 5-1
Lazio - Padova 5-1
Lazio - Torino 3-0

Those were the golden days in Lazio era.
