19/04/2011: Lotito: "The team needs the fans more than ever !"

Lazio President Claudio Lotito spoke to Lazio Style Radio and urged the fans to support the team in the final 5 games of the season.

"In those final five matches, the supporters presence is crucial to push us to victory." said Lotito to LazioStyleRadio.

As reported by earlier, the Italian Committee for Sports safety had banned all laziali without the Tessera from going to the Meazza stadium as the game was declared high risk.

But President Lotito has worked behind the scenes to make sure such a decision is overruled:
"I believe in our fans and I know their behaviour, we fought the decision because we know that the supporters will be at Meazza out of passion for Lazio. Our fans have always called for fairness, and this is the Lazio style, and it is only right that they are given the chance to follow and support the team at these crucial stages. Besides, Lazio and Inter fans have always had a good relationship and incidents never happened. For all of those reasons, it is only right that they are allowed to go to the stadium even without the Tessera."

Lotito then moved on to clarify his proposition on establishing a monitoring committee tasked with the monitoring of the referees in the final games of the season:

"All those who criticized us on the proposition, must have misunderstood. I only proposed a monitoring committee to make sure the results are determined by fair play. The outcome of games must be determined by the players, and all teams should support us in our proposition." said Lotito.

Finally, a praise to the team by Lotito: "I am convinced that Lazio can compete with anyone. Every game is difficult, but we must play with the same spirit of sacrifice, determination, and the desire for victory as we saw against Catania. We must play with the motto one for all and all for one. Yes our win at Catania was well deserved, even Catania president said that we dominated the game and deserved the win, thats a nice gesture of sportsmanship I must say" concluded Lotito.
