  19/08/2014: Lotito: "Gentiletti? Pioli's choice"
email print
Claudio Lotito was confronted by the media having spent the evening with the FIGC and the Lazio President was asked about Gentiletti:

"He's strong, fierce, fast and left-footed and he has just won the Copa Libertadores, which his the Sout American Champions League. Is it done? No, not yet, we will see in the coming days. He is a player Pioli likes, and if our coach likes you, we act."

There were rumours that Gentiletti was on a plane to Rome yesterday morning, but this appears to be false. However, a delegation from San Lorenzo have arrived today to meet Pope Francis - a lifelong San Lorenzo fan - at the Vatican. This would present Lotito with an ideal opportunity to secure the Argentine's transfer.

San Lorenzo fans in Argentina have resigned themselves to losing Gentiletti, and are lamenting the fact that Lazio are set to complete the deal for no more than 2.5 million euro. Gentiletti is expected to sign a four-year deal and receive a salary of 600,000 euro.
