19/10/2014: Parolo: "Lazio are tough, we can beat anyone"
email print
"We wanted to play the game according to our mentality. We wanted to be aggressive and not give away many chances. We had a great first half and we deservedly went into the break with the lead. Fiorentina reacted well but our manager asked us to stand tall, and although we suffered for 15 minutes we took the result home. It was a deserved result, Lazio is a tough team and can have it's say in the league."

"Fiorentina had their chances, but we were in Florence, it is normal to suffer. We are talking about a team that has made it difficult for the big teams. We were compact and congratulations go to those who came back into the team especially Ciani and Novaretti. We can go far."

Parolo was asked about working under Pioli:

"He is a coach that gives us a role on the field, we all know what to do. He is a guide, we are his people and we put forward his quality. If we demonstrate this spirit of unity then we can have our say. We have a world champion who came off the bench, a vice world champion who returned from injury and is a great player. There are many players who want to have their say. Breakthough game? If we bring home three points in the next game then it will be a turning point. We need continuity, which we are now finding. We have the potential to beat anyone, but we need humility and the will to fight. We have the perception of being part of a united group, we have players who can make a difference and that fights to get the results."
