03/12/2014: Konko: "I wish to continue my career at Lazio"
email print

Edson Braafheid and Abdoulay Konko gave interviews shortly after yesterday’s Coppa Italia victory against Varese.

There was a lot of criticism when Braafheid arrived at Lazio but the Dutch player showed that he deserves a chance and maybe a contract renewal in the coming months because he signed a deal until the summer of 2015. Here is what he said:

“I feel very good at the club and I like Rome. My contract expires in 2015 but I will do everything I can do convince the club to offer me a new deal. This is what I think every time I step on the pitch”.

According to some sites Konko was the man who scored the opening goal but others have it as an own goal. That surely isn’t a big problem because the Frenchman had a good game and showed his desire to be a starter at the club and play as much as he can.

“We were able to dominate the game and perhaps we should have done a bit better in front of goal. Will I remain at Lazio? You have to ask the club. I already said that I wish to continue my career here”.

“We hope that today’s victory will give us a morale boost after the difficulties we encountered in our last few games”.

Lazio managed to keep a clean sheet for a second game in a row:

“You always have to work on the defensive part of the game so that you can concede as fewer goals as possible. It’s really important to work hard every day. This was a team victory, we hope that this will give us the much needed boost and that we will keep on this winning path in the next round against Parma. Our objectives? We have to believe until the last moment
