  10/12/2014: Lazio consider Andreolli
email print
Serious injuries to Santiago Gentiletti, Michael Ciani and Edson Braafheid have left Lazio incredibly thin at the back with a defensive purchase in January fast becoming a necessity. In an ideal world, Lazio would most probably look to bring in a left-footed player, but time is of the essence and players who meet our criteria are few and far between.

Corriere dello Sport claim today that Lazio could use existing relations to snare Marco Andreolli from Inter Milan. Lazio president Claudio Lotito struck up a strong relationship with his Inter counterpart Erick Thohir last January when the two clubs negotiated the transfer of Hernanes, and Andreolli has worked with Stefano Pioli before at Chievo Verona, where the 28 year-old centre-back made a name for himself having had four dismal years at Roma.

Since signing for Inter on a free transfer 18 months ago, Andreolli has found space hard to come by and has only featured in 13 games, mainly in cup competitions. These limited outings have done no harm to his reputation, but a winter move to Lazio could prove to be a good opportunity to further his career.
