  08/01/2015: "We live from day to day": Lotito
email print
It's that time of year again, when the Derby della Capitale approaches and fills the Roman air. With only 3 more days to go until this season's first meeting between Lazio and Roma kicks off, Club President Claudio Lotito took some time out to speak about the derby against our bitterest rivals and the January transfer market;

"The team is playing well and showing our true potential. Several of our players have not yet fully exploded on the pitch, so I am very excited. We are on a good run at the moment and we must maintain this. We have to stay on this road and be consistent.

"I do not like to comment about Roma before we play them this Sunday. I do not even want to comment about Rudi Garcia's recent words (about the controversial goal in Udine in the last round). You must support your team but within the rules in my opinion. But there are certain things that should only remain on the field and not further. For this derby I hope it is played out properly and within the correct football and sporting rules".

"We live from day to day. We have to continue playing well, believe in ourselves and not worry about anything else. Our focus right now is Roma and the derby. We have a good coach who knows exactly what he is doing, and who has shown his approach and vision of modern football in the past and the present, and so I am confident in him, our group or players, and our management".

Lotito was then asked about the transfer market and if he and Igli Tare are on the lookout for a new central defender;

"We are on the market and if there is a way to strengthen the team then we will do it. We have a large squad at the moment so we need to also consider this. I also want to confirm that recent rumours about Klose and Felipe Anderson leaving the club are very inaccurate. Both players will remain at Lazio", concluded Lotito.
