18/01/2015: Pioli: "After this game we are even more aware of our strength"
email print

Stefano Pioli shared his thoughts after Lazio’s 0-1 home loss from Napoli. The Laziali had control of the ball, had more chances but Napoli were the ones who managed to score a goal and it turned out as the wining one. Here is what Lazio’s coach said:

“We played good and didn’t deserve to lose. In the first half we attacked well but our presence in the attacking area wasn’t good enough. Klose’s entry in the second half should have changed that. The spirit we showed was great. Napoli took advantage of the only opportunity they had and scored. In the second half they closed themselves pretty good in defence and it was hard to find cracks in their defensive line. We had some good chances to score but we missed them. After this game we are even more aware of our strength”.

Was there a penalty for Lazio?

“I will not judge the referee but there was no doubt in my mind that there was a penalty for Lazio”.

Djordjevic can’t find his goalscoring from and today he had zero shots on goal…

“His presence on the field was massive for our team. He will find his good form, I’m sure about that”.

Was Lazio frightened?

“I never saw a frightened team on the pitch. I saw a team that played it’s game and couldn’t find the final touch. We showed great personality and desire. The quality we showed wasn’t that good but we surely showed everyone that we are good as Napoli who were title contenders last year”.

What do you expect from the January transfer market?

“Lotito and Tare know our needs and we are working in that direction”.

Are you angry about Marchetti’s constant yellow cards?

“Surely he must be more careful. We win and lose with Marchetti, we did the same with Berisha”.
