During the hours when the entire Lazio team are about to leave Rome for the Supercoppa Italiana, the first group of officials and staff of the club have already arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on the morning of 31st Jul. The GrandeLazio association, led by the president, Chris Woo, presented a warm welcome to the guests, and conducted meetings with the officials about the details of tifosi interactions before the match. Preliminary agreements were struck by both parties.

By the previous night on the 30th Jul., Chris Woo and other members of the GrandeLazio association had already arrived at the hotel near the airport in advance, and prepared exquisite bouquets for the officials. On the next morning at 5:40, the GrandeLazio crew were already waiting at the airport for the arrival of the club officials. Before long, the crew of United Vansen Sports, the general organizer of the Supercoppa event, also arrived at the scene. After some waiting, by 8 am, the first representatives of the club finally arrived, including Marketing General Director Ms. Laura Zaccheo, Marketing Director Mr. Marco Canigiani, Media Director Mr. Luigi Sinibaldi, and Youth Team Director Mr. Fonte. Receiving the beautiful bouquet, Ms. Zaccheo was deeply impressed with the enthusiasm of GrandeLazio and the Chinese Laziali. Ms. Zaccheo lauded GrandeLazio as “a long-time partner” in China for S.S. Lazio, and promised to give the Chinese Laziali “a surprise”. When the group of officials and staff arrived at the Xintiandi Langham Hotel, where the entire team will also be staying, the media director Mr. Sinibaldi conducted a brief interview with Chris Woo, the president of GrandeLazio.

After briefly stopping at the hotel, the officials went on to visit the TopSports Shanghai Stadium Shop, which will hold the press release of the Lazio away jersey for the new season and the tifosi meeting activities. At the TopSports shop, the Lazio officials held detailed meetings with representatives from GrandeLazio, TopSports, and Macron. Unfortunately, due to security considerations, the tifosi activities, which will see players signing club souvenirs for the fans, will not be held every day from the 2nd to the 6th of Aug. as was originally planned, and will instead be cut short for merely two afternoons on the 3rd and 6th of Aug. The press release for the away jersey of the new season will be held before the tifosi meeting on the 3rd. As compensation to the reduced number of tifosi meetings, after much efforts from the GrandeLazio representatives, the club has agreed that the duration of both of the tifosi meetings can be lengthened. The club also confirmed that several popular players will be present at these tifosi meetings, including Felipe Anderson, Marco Parolo, Antonio Candreva, and Senad Lulic on the 3rd, and Miro Klose, Stefan De Vrij, and Danilo Cataldi on the 6th. The representatives of the relevant parties also decided on the detailed layout of the conference hall as well as the organization of the events.

Additionally, in order to make up for reduced numbers of tifosi meetings, the club are expected to hold an open training session on the evening of 5th Aug. There will be 300 tickets distributed to fans who would like to watch the training up close and interact with the players. During the open training, the members of the contingent organized by GrandeLazio, who will sit in a united group of over 800 at Curva Nord on the match day, will also practice team songs and chants to prepare for the match day.

After several hours of discussion, the GrandeLazio association completed the first official meeting with the club and other parties regarding the tifosi activities before the Supercoppa. Although there have been minor imperfections, the extensive efforts and effective work results of GrandeLazio was still highly acknowledged and supported by representatives of all parties. GrandeLazio will try our best to provide Laziali all over China with a more than satisfactory experience for the Supercoppa Italiana.
