  25/05/2011: Rocchi: "Lazio for life"
email print
Lazio captain Tommaso Rocchi was interviewed today by Sky Sports about the season and his future:

"The truth is we were aiming to qualify for Europe, so our goal was 6th or 7th. Then as the season went on, having been in the fight for 4th until the end, we are a little disappointed. There is some regret because we had a great year and it's a blow we did not succeed, but we should not belittle what we have achieved".

Lazio missed a goalscorer?
"I'm not convinced, because Hernanes scored 11 goals, Zarate scored 9, Mauri and Floccari 7, so although noone scored 20 goals there were 4 or 5 who made up for that. I think that to improve and grow the company has to invest and take some important players".

The priority for the market is buy a striker?
"The company intends to buy another striker, and make their own assessments on who did what this season".

You had a conversation with Lotito, what's new? What about your future?
"We had a general discussion as we do at the end of every season. Talk of a transfer never came up. I am on the side of the team, an important player, who wants to play more and hopefully next season I will have more chances to play. Given that there will be more competitions and more games I think there will be more space. It is up to everyone to show on the field who deserves to play".

Is it your intention to stay at Lazio, or to look around?
"I've never done so, I have two more years left on my contract. I always said I want to end my career here and after the last few games I showed I still have something to give the team and this my goal".
