  04/06/2011: Lazio's Scudettino dream vanished
email print
After the victory in Torneo Ostuni last week, Lazio's Primavera team had loads of self confidence before yesterdays quarter finals in the Primavera Championship. Sadly enough this didn't help much as Lazio lost to Genoa 0-1.

Lazio coach Bollini returned this season to the Primavera team after he 10 years ago won the 'Scudettino' with the team. Already after 2 minutes though Genoa were in the lead after a penalty scored by Al Hassan. The foul was commited by Lazio captain and goalkeeper Alessandro Berardi.

Genoa, who won the Championship last year, succeded to threat the Lazio goal on several occasions in the first half. Lazio played a better second half, but didn't find the equaliser.

Although this is a major blow we have to remember that the Primavera team has had a successful season with four other trophies (Torneo Ostuni, Tirreno e Sport, Wojtiyla and Memorial Franco Sensi).
