Uber Gradella will be honoured today by S.S. Lazio Polisportiva, for his 90th birthday.
Gradella joined Lazio in 1940, to become Lazio's goalkeeper for almost one decade. He also got called up for the Italian national team.
Uber still can tell the stories about his best friend at the time and another Lazio legend, Silvio Piola, the all-time best goalscorer in the Serie A.
At the end of the 1940's, Gradella was offered by Lazio to join AC Milan, because Sentimenti IV was the new first goalie for Lazio.
But Gradella said he didn't wanted to move. His quote was :"Then I prefer to stop playing with football... Lazio or nothing !"
Tonight he will be honoured at the Centro Studi Nove Gennaio Millenovecento in the Via Flaminia 362, with the presence of Mr. Antonio Buccioni, president of the Polisportiva S.S. Lazio .
Auguri Uber, 90 years of Lazialita !
