Earlier today two anticipated players showed up at the Paideia medical clinic.

At 9.20 this morning, Federico Marchetti and Lorik Cana arrived together with Team Manager Maurizio Manzini and after the traditional medical the two players will sign the contracts making them Lazio players until 2016.

In Marchetti’s case Lazio has beaten competition from teams such as Milan and Juventus and released the players from his Cagliari contract by meeting the buy-out clause set at €5.2 million, which will be paid in three installments.

Marchetti himself is believed to be netting €1 million per year. Directly after the medical Federico Marchetti answered a few questions from journalists, where he clearly stated Lazio was always his objective and that he, despite other clubs showing interest, believes in the Lazio project and looks forward to start his new adventure with Lazio.

Lorik Cana came to Lazio as part of a deal where Fernando Muslera joins Galatasaray (Cana’s former club) and Lazio receives an additional €3 million.

The Albanian international will be earning around €1.7 million per season. Also the Albanian showed great satisfaction after having arrived in Rome and has described joining Lazio as “a dream coming true”.

Today and tomorrow also the rest of the squad joining for Auronzo di Cadore will visit Paideia for the mandatory pre-season medical.

Mobido Diakité, Stefan Radu, Tommasso Ceccarelli and Alessandro Berardi were all seen at the clinic this morning, and many other Lazio players are expected.
